FAMILY of Frank Garner, whose body was discovered in an East Cowick field, have paid tribute to their "loveable rogue".
A statement released through Humberside Police read: "Frank was a loveable rogue who enjoying spending time in the pub with his friends.

"He was a good local man and was well known and well respected.

"As a family we are still coming to terms with what has happened to Frank and we all love and miss him greatly.

"Although Frank could be very sociable with his friends, he was also a quiet and private man who kept himself to himself.

"It's not just his family who miss him, his friends do too."

Mr Garner's son Richard James Garner, 30, of Morley Street, Goole, appeared before Beverley magistrates on Tuesday charged with his murder, and was remanded into custody until the next hearing at Hull Crown Court on July 16.

Mr Garner's remains were found wrapped in black bin bags on grassland near the village on June 18 by a man walking his dog. The 62-year-old went missing in July 2005 and a post-mortem examination to find the cause of death proved inconclusive.
