A SUCCESSFUL Yorkshire businessman has been unveiled as Selby and Ainsty's UKIP candidate to fight the next General Election.
Tim Hunter, who runs his own IT and research firm, will go head-to-head with Labour's Wendy Nichols, Tory choice Nigel Adams and Socialist Labour Party hopeful Ian Wilson.

Mr Hunter (pictured), of Knaresborough, was born in 1957 and educated to postgraduate level. He runs Yorview, which recently published a report into effects of the smoking ban.

His political career includes standing for UKIP in the Harrogate Borough Council election in the Ribston ward – he achieved seven per cent of the vote.

At local level, Tim successfully campaigned to resurface roads in Knaresborough and secure extra town centre litter bins.

He's currently battling against proposals for an eco-town in Selby district.

Tim, married to wife Jenny – a UKIP candidate for York Central – does voluntary work for animal welfare charities in his spare time.
