ARCHITECTURE students will showcase their designs modelled following studies into Selby's past, present and future during an open exhibition.
University of Sheffield academics Kyle Reed, Sarah Green, Craig Western, Adam Dainow, Paul Westwood and Lukas Berry (above), together with tutor Matthew Margetts, have spent their sixth year modelling their designs according to results of consultations with Selby residents.
Their work – including alternative designs for Market Square and other prime locations on extra small, small and medium scales – will go on display in the location itself from 10am on May 10, when residents and visitors will be asked to provide their comments to help complete the students’ portfolios.
Sarah said: “Our designs had to be appropriate to Selby, so we’ve spent many months researching the town. Our studies have been really fascinating, particularly examining Selby on different scales, which has really made us appreciate it rather than just taking it at face value.
“The exhibition is about showing the people of Selby the work we’ve done since we last visited, and we hope they like what they see and can provide some positive feedback.”
