MORE than 4,300 people in Selby and York have been assigned an NHS dentist since April, according to figures released this week.
The York and North Yorkshire Primary Care Trust report states there are now 3,050 people in the region currently waiting to be assigned a dentist.

A PCT spokesman said: “Anyone who wishes to register with an NHS dentist in North Yorkshire can do so by joining our dental database.

“Allocations are made frequently and, during July alone, the PCT allocated more than 2,500 people from the Selby and York locality to an NHS dentist.”

People wanting to join the database should call 01904 724 107 and leave a message on the automated line, e-mail nyy-pct.DentalRegistration@nhs.net or register by post at NHS Dental Waiting List, FREEPOST NEA 13107, York YO31 7ZX.
