POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information after a man stole about £5,000 worth of clothing from a Selby town centre store.
The incident happened at Hispters in Brook Street at 11.55am today.

Investigating officers said a man wearing a hooded top entered the shop and grabbed a range of high-value Stone Island clothing, including jackets, tops and t-shirts.

When the suspect attempted to leave the premises, the female shop assistant managed to get hold of some of the clothing and a brief struggle ensued before he made good his escape.

Call police on 0845 6060247.
