CROWDED HOUSE underlined his Classic prospects for next season after producing a devastating turn of foot to win the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster.
Irish master Jamie Spencer was at the back of the field early on as Skanky Biscuit and favourite Jukebox Jury set the early pace.

But Crowded House (7-1) stormed through when asked by his jockey to claim the season's final Group One prize by three-and-a-half lengths, with the two early front runners making up the places. The result stood after a steward's inquiry.

Four previous winners of the Town Moor contest, including Motivator and Authorized, have gone on to win the Derby.

Ironically, Crowded House was my tip for victory, but minutes before the race I changed my mind and sided with Aidan O'Brien's unplaced Masterofthehorse.

And changing my mind again cost me a double after Definightly – ridden by Spencer – just got up in the opener to win by a head.

Judge 'n Jury claimed success in the dash, while Imperial Guest sprung a huge surprise by winning the next at odds of 50-1 – putting two of my sidekicks well in the money for just a £2 each way stake!

Monk Fryston jockey Dean McKeown, due to start a four year suspension, steered Times Vital (9-2) past the post ahead of Voice Coach, and there were also wins for Mr Aviator (13-2) and Quest for Success in the final race.

A bumper crowd braved the blustery conditions to enjoy another highly entertaining day of action on Town Moor.

The season at the Doncaster track has been a huge success – and there's still more action to come.

The curtain comes down on the turf Flat season on November 8 with a card featuring the totesport.com November Handicap, before the jumps campaign gets into full swing.
