Junior golf took a leap forward at Selby last Friday when late entries had to be turned away from an over-subscribed event that saw a maximum 55 players competing in difficult wind conditions over a testing course.
The occasion was the annual Selby Golf Club Junior Open for ten to 18-year-olds ranging in handicaps from one to 36 which drew entries from as far away as Ireland.
And in presenting the trophy to 13-year-old overall winner Andrew Cockcroft, a 13-handicap player from Shipley who shot a magnificent nett 64, Link Agency representatives Phil Jones and Paul Withers confirmed that they will be opening a Selby office next month and would continue to sponsor the event next year.
