Kevin Thomas showed why he was recently voted Selby's Sporting Hero with a match-winning 86 not out in a York Vale League Division 1 derby as he single-handedly guided Drax to a four-wicket victory against their North Duffield rivals with as many overs to spare.
His innings included two maximums and a dozen fours while brother Harvey (23) and Matthew Torn (17) also contributed.
Kevin won a bat signed by top test stars when he was named a 'Sporting Hero' in the Selby Times search for the most outstanding contribution to last year's district cricket season.
The result leaves Drax top of the league as they remain undefeated after three matches.
