A trophy presented in memory of former Selby Times advertising manager Jeannie Tolson was awarded to Yanna Hall when the Selby & District Riding Club held their annual prize presentation at the Riccall Regen Centre on Friday.
A much-loved figure in the equestrian world, Jeannie died tragically just over a year ago when she was in collision with a van near her West Haddlesey home. She was riding her bicycle after tending to her horses before leaving for work.
It was decided to award the trophy – donated by Jeannie's husband David – to someone who has excelled behind the scenes.
Club secretary Pat Rowden said: "Yanna has been organising lessons for other members and is always willing to help with whatever wants doing. And she always does it with a smile. Nothing is ever too much of a problem. She's a very good, helpful and cheerful member of the club and we couldn't do without her."
Making the presentation was Regen Centre manager Steve Beck.
