I'M WRITING to express my disgust at the price of petrol at the Jet garage in Bawtry Road, Selby.

The prices are continually going up and now D and R Smith, of Doncaster Road in Brayton, has closed, the owner has had the cheek to put his prices up again, as if prices aren't dear enough!

He knows he has no competition and is now using this – our nearest garages are now at Escrick, Goole or South Milford, and these prices are two to three pence cheaper than his. We need the supermarkets in town to open up petrol garages and compete.

Also, now the queues to get petrol at this garage are horrendous. I've seen drivers overtaking the queue and going in through the opposite lane – an accident is waiting to happen there, and if it does, it would be disastrous. I'm not the only person who feels this – several colleagues, family and friends all feel the same. We had the budget last week, and petrol was hit again, so once again I'm sure prices will go up, attacking us drivers.
